Valentines

Valentines

Love. As time leads up to February 14th often we examine habits of love. What could I do to be a better lover, partner, romantic individual, or even better mother/father or child.

Often times people in foreign countries think that western countries have weird or bizzare holidays. The idea of holidays that make you think, change habits, or even become a better person should not be thought of as bizzare.

Think of Love. A great exercise to focus on this holiday is to spend 30min-45 mins in a mindful mediation, focusing on the abstract nature of love. Allow all ideas, thoughts, abstraction and conceptualization of the nature of love to come to the mind. Try not to use imagery, sounds, feelings or emotions, merely ideas.

By thinking about the ideas of love some main things will surface.

1. I likely could be more loving
2. There are infinite ways to love
3. Loving makes one feel more omnipresent
4. loving makes one feel more power, energy and energized, and more relaxed
5. Loving makes one receive love in return
6. Loving is what bliss, and Source or God is.

Through all of these insights one could say why not love more. Simple techniques of sharing praises, helping, performing charity, philanthropy, teaching, careing for others, or generally serving mankind are all great way to exchange love.

On this valentines day, think of it more than a romantic festival or day, and turn up the nature of loving attributes. Make it a year of love, rather than a day of sexuality -unless of course it is Tantra!
